Art for Life

Art for Life has been delivering the arts programme at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, since 1993, working with artists, staff and service users to enhance the experience of those spending time in hospital, using the arts to create high quality, distinctive, welcoming, appropriate and sensitively considered environments that support and inspire both patients, carers, visitors and staff. 

We have integrated and embedded high quality artworks throughout the Hospital through a programme of artists commissions, partnership projects with local and regional organisations, an ongoing annual exhibition programme for our two exhibition spaces and managing our collection of over 500 loaned, donated and purchased permanent artworks. We have engaged patients, visitors and staff in a broad range of arts participation; creative workshops and live music sessions to help relieve stress and anxiety, contribute to the healing process and raise awareness and understanding of health issues. We are involved in the Hospital's Environment and Design Committee, supporting all major and minor projects as well as long term strategic masterplanning for the site, developing the Interior Design Strategy and the Landscape Strategy for our outdoor spaces
