Created outside in situ, these paintings have been produced using and intergrating earth and found materials in selected locations across Devon. Describing her work, Frances explains, 'Geology becomes my pigment'.

Frances Hatch was awarded th Shenzhen International Watercolour Biennial Prize 2016 by the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours. She contributed to Thames and Hudson's 2015 publication 'Drawing and Painting Materals and Techniques for Contemporary Artists' and is a senior tutor at West Dean College.
