Friday 08 December 2017 – Saturday 09 December 2017
Opening Hours: 8 Dec 7-10pm, 9 Dec 11am-6pm

There will be lots to see and do as you explore the Studio building, accompanied by mince pies and mulled wine! You’ll have the chance to meet the artists and talk about their work. With around 40 artists working in the building, there’s a real mix of artwork to discover. The Studio is a fascinating warren of rooms, with artists filling every corner.

There will be lots of artwork for sale too. From big to small, paintings and prints to gifts and cards, something for all budgets and tastes. This year we are launching our range of hand screen printed Jamaica Street Artists tote bags.

Friday evening is a chance to pop in to the Studios after work. Bring your colleagues along for a drink and a nose around. Come for the art and stay for the party.

Saturday is a more relaxed affair. Take your time to explore the studios and find those fantastic Christmas presents. We will have a family art activity to keep the children entertained.

There are a few new studio holders to meet, including Zoe Power, an illustrator and sign writer whose work has appeared on the Bristol Pound note. Our artists have been involved in lots of exciting projects recently, like Dorcas Casey’s commission as part of MUSE: Maker’s in Museums, a life-like fabric crocodile covered in polyurethane jellies for Bruton Museum.

Jamaica Street Artists is a collective of about 40 artists, working in the beating heart of Stokes Croft, Bristol. The group is a unique and ambitious collective, with members exhibiting, collaborating and working both nationally and worldwide. JSA has been established for over 20 years and the studio is housed in a grade II listed former carriageworks, an iconic landmark in Bristol.

Jamaica Street Artists aims to support its members with affordable workspace and a secure creative environment in which to work. Our ethos is to nurture new creative talent alongside established practitioners, with the freedom and space to make new work and opportunities for informal mentoring.
