Petra Freeman is an artist who grew up in the hamlet of Morwenstow in North Cornwall. After studying at Falmouth, Wimbledon and the Royal College of Art she went on to become artist in residence at the Museum of Moving Image on London's South Bank. The experimental painted work produced during the residency led to commissions by Channel 4 and the Arts Council to produce a series of animated works using oil paint on glass.
Petra's paintings, drawings and animations have been widely shown nationally at galleries including the Tate Modern, The National Portrait Gallery, I.C.A. and the Barbican Centre. The Moving Image work has been shown and won awards at film festivals worldwide.
This latest body of paintings entitled 'Lost and Found' is a revisiting of some sketchbook drawings which are taking on a new life in paint...and might lead to a film.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1o1I2p7e4Y&t=6s
