An exhibition 'Soil Culture: Young Shoots', based on artists' research findings and work produced during their soil residencies will be shown at the Create centre.

The selected artists are: Marissa Lee Benedict (Environment and Sustainability Institute, University of Exeter), Jonny Briggs (White Moose), Anton Burdakov (Eden Project), Paul Chaney (Kestle Barton), Sarah Ciurysek (Daylesford Organic Farm), Anne-Marie Culhane (University of Exeter), Karen Guthrie (Hauser & Wirth Somerset), Lisa Hirmer/ DodoLab (Peninsula Arts), Sophie Mason with Simon Brown (Dolphin Primary School roof garden commission), Debra Solomon (Schumacher College), Something & Son (Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew), Touchstone collaborations (Blue Finger Alliance), Karen Wydler (Hannahs at Seale-Hayne).

There work will be shown alongside a second exhibition 'Dirt Dialogues' organised by Soilarts in Berlin, and a specially commissioned film by Zoe Young. Also featured is a new map by artist Adam White celebrating the Bicentenary of William Smith’s making of the first Geological Map of England and Wales.

SOIL SATURDAYS AND FOOD HAPPENINGS with the Soil Sisters
The exhibitions will be animated by a convivial and hands-on programme of 'Soil Saturdays and Food Happenings' curated by Touchstone collaborations as part of their soil residency at Create in collaboration with Blue Finger Alliance. The following seven Soil Saturdays in July and August are co-hosted with local and national partners. Each explores a different soil-inspired theme through a medley of experiences – hands-on workshops, food sharing, school activities, films, farm visits, music and conversations.
