Pick of the Week 2014

March's Guest Editor: Carl Slater

Every month we invite a Guest Editor to select our Pick of the Week feature. Chosen from the activities listed in our events pages they select highlights from across the region.

This March we welcome Carl Slater:

Carl Slater is an artist and the co-founder and gallery director of KARST. Born in Cornwall and brought up in Plymouth, Carl graduated from an MFA at Central Saint Martins in 2006 and has since been doing projects both nationally and internationally. He recently relocated back to the south west to continue his practice as a visual artist and to head up Plymouth’s new artist-led space.

KARST is a non-profit contemporary art venue in Plymouth, which comprises a public gallery and artists’ studios. The gallery is dedicated to showcasing current and experimental visual art, through an international exhibition programme. KARST is an artist-led initiative which focuses on working in partnership with cultural organisations, artist groups and creative individuals. Founded in 2012, its aim is to contribute significantly towards cultural growth in Plymouth, and to generate a positive influence within the south west and beyond.
