Pick of the Week 2015

November's Guest Editor: Sophie Cummings

Every month we invite a Guest Editor to select our Pick of the Week feature. Chosen from the activities listed in our events pages they select highlights from across the region.

This November we welcome Curator of Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, Sophie Cummings.

Sophie Cummings is Curator of Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, which holds an important collection of modern and contemporary British art and studio ceramics. Sophie’s particular interest is in modern painting but she enjoys working with all the museum collections and sharing these with visitors.

Swindon has a programme of changing exhibitions focusing on its modern art collection. In 2016, it will play host to an exhibition by Eileen Cooper RA and a show entitled From Where I’m Standing which brings together some of the most interesting ceramicists working in the South West.

Before joining Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, Sophie worked in museums and historic houses and has taught art history at university level.
