Artist Talk: Maeve Brennan and Imran Perretta

Edge Arts

Friday 7 December, 6pm

Responding to the curatorial theme, Unintended Consequences, the two artists’ works reflect the complex, entangled nature of the present moment, with world events so volatile and turbulent that it’s hard to predict what might happen next.

'Environmental impact and human migration are two issues which are currently at the forefront of conversations among our CAS associates artists. This event in Bath brings together two artists whose work – the result of the Jerwood/FVU moving image awards – attempts to unravel both of these complex and exigent subjects. Under the curatorial theme 'Unintended Consequences', the title of Maeve Brennan's work ‘Listening in the Dark’ just about sums up the lack of clarity and clear vision we feel about how to address these issues. The talk by both these artists will no doubt shed light on how they have approached the theme.'
