Deadline Friday 26 January 2018

Salary £34,000 per annum
Hours Full Time
Interview Date 8 and 9 February 2018

We are looking for an exceptional individual to provide artistic and organisational leadership. The Director will continue to build the Art Centre’s high profile and reputation for quality, whilst developing strategies to ensure its future sustainability.

Bridport Arts Centre is a vibrant multi-arts venue, playing a central role in the cultural life of Bridport and West Dorset, and contributing to the artistic vibrancy of the South West. Key signature projects give us a unique identity, including international creative writing competition the Bridport Prize and the From Page to Screen film festival. We also house the largest gallery space in Dorset.

We are supported by Arts Council England, West Dorset District Council and Bridport Town Council. We successfully bid to remain an ACE National Portfolio Organisation for 2018-2022.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to develop the Arts Centre’s successful programme, and to build the organisation’s strategic role in the South West, individually and as part of collaborative networks. This is a hands-on role, providing leadership for our small, committed team and being a figurehead for the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience of creative programming, management and leadership in a small organisation, strong interpersonal and communication skills, energy, creativity and commitment, as well as an enterprising approach to fundraising and income generation.
