Deadline Monday 23 January 2017

Fee 1st work accepted: £15. Each additional work: £5 each

The relationship between art and text is rich and varied – from Rene Magritte to Jasper Johns, Jenny Holzer to Martin Creed – the decision to use text in art is a powerful and often provocative choice.

For further inspiration we have found some digital letters to play with at LanguageIsAVirus http://www.languageisavirus.com/ and PostSecrethttp://postsecret.com/

There are endless possibilities between a visual art practice and writing, text and words!

As one informs the other, keep your Playfulness http://www.languageisavirus.com/visual-poetry/mosaic.html and think outside the letter.

Curated by Kelly O'Brien and Sveta Antonova.

All media encouraged including video, performance, installation, prints, painting, books, new media and sculpture.

Please email a digital image of your entry and a brief Artist Statement to exhibitions@kellyobrien.co.uk by the 22nd January 2017.

There is no fee to submit work but there will be a gallery hanging fee for each work accepted into the show:

• 1st work accepted: £15
