Deadline Sunday 11 February 2018

Available residency dates:

12th March - 1st April  - coinciding with Back Lane West’s re-launch event on 29th March

30th April - 18th May

Costs to the artist: £150

About the residency programme:

Back Lane West is a not for profit artist-led space in Redruth, which provides residency space to test and develop new work, for contemporary artists at any stage of their career.

Resident artists will have access to a newly developed resource space with wifi, books and magazines, A3 printing facilities, a basic tool kit and projector. If artists decide to open the space to the public during their residency period, support for marketing, publicity and hosting will be provided by the Back Lane West team. The team can also be available during the residency period for advice or support depending on the needs of the artist. Residency applications which include a public event or opening will be looked upon favourably.

Please note that the first available residency period coincides with the official launch of Back Lane West’s new Associates Programme and resource space. There will be a widely promoted public event at the space on the evening of 29th March, therefore the first residency period would be well suited to an applicant who would like to take advantage of this to show work/works in progress.

If you are interested in a longer residency period please watch out for the next call for applications which will go live in June/July for Autumn residencies.

Back Lane West will also be launching a new Associates Programme for 30 South West artists; this will run across 9 months and includes access to BLW, talks, crits with visiting artists and peer support - look out for the open call in February. BLW Associates is supported by Arts Council England.
