The Frome Open Art Trail celebrates local artists and makers, normally taking place during the Frome Festival in July. However, owing to Covid-19 we are now showing the artists’ work online with a Frome Virtual Art Trail!
The organising Team felt it was key to continue the Art Trail enabling local artists and makers to showcase their work. Often artists can show more online than from a studio allowing people more choice to view and buy. So we decided to create our event as a Virtual Art Trail running from 4th – 12th July 2020.
Over the last few years the Frome Open Art Trail (formerly the Frome Open Studios), has grown in strength and reputation attracting an increasing number of art lovers who enjoy meeting and buying directly from the artist. Even at this uncertain time, the artists would deeply appreciate you taking time to visit online, to buy via their shops or make direct contact through email or by phone. Each artist is showing their work using photos or videos, so click on the links on the pages, and enjoy looking at the range of work produced locally. There’s a wide variety of prices on a great diversity of beautiful art and crafts.
52 local Frome artists are participating in the Virtual Art Trail with affordable art for everyone including ceramics, paintings, textiles, photography, glass, and jewellery. In Frome we have a large number of artists which include student, emerging, self-employed and professional artists – many are now seriously struggling financially as so many exhibitions, art projects, and community events have had to be cancelled or put on hold until later in the year or 2021. We would be so thankful on behalf of the artists for any sales from cards to commissions.
The Interactive Brochure on our website https://www.frome-open-art-trail.co.uk gives the details of all the artists, with images, contact details and links to their work. To purchase work some artists have online shops, or you’re welcome to contact them directly by phone or email.
