Arts and Culture Diversity Forum Somerset: Getting in, Getting on

An online Zoom session exploring economic barriers to Arts and Culture

Are you an artist, performer or filmmaker in Somerset that has faced economic barriers to making a career in the cultural sector? Are you trying to find progression routes but facing employment issues? Join us for an online Diversity Forum meeting and be part of the conversation.

Covid-19 has forced many artists into severe financial crisis and is impacting on all of our mental health, emotional well-being and resilience. However, many socio-economic barriers existed pre-pandemic too. What were the things that made a difference to you when you were starting out? Are those things still in place? If not, what can be done about it?

Join us to hear the experiences of Adele Thomas, opera and theatre director born and raised in Port Talbot, followed by a conversation about any issues of inequality or barriers that you have endured.

More details about the event will follow over the next few weeks. Meanwhile if you would like to reserve a free place, please email / 01460 249450 and include any specific access requirements. If you have limited access to the internet, please also let us know. There will be 30 available places for this online discussion.

The Arts and CultureDiversity Forum Somerset enables artists and organisations to connect, collaborate and innovate through the sharing of knowledge and good practice. Coordinated by Somerset Art Works, Somerset Film and Take Art.
