JOHN AKOMFRAH | THE STUART HALL PROJECT | EVENING SCREENING

A spe­cial evening screen­ing of John Akomfrah’s fea­ture length film

Caroline Deeds, Lecturer Factual Television and Documentary at Falmouth University, will introduce a special evening screening of John Akomfrah’s feature length film about the influential Jamaican-born intellectual Stuart Hall (1932 – 2014), preceded by a delicious CAST Café supper.

The Stuart Hall Project is a film about revolution, politics and culture, an intimate portrait Hall’s work as a founding figure of the New Left and architect of the field of cultural studies, culled from over 100 hours of Hall’s wide-ranging media appearances, with footage of the social and political upheavals through which he lived. Daily continuous looped screenings of The Stuart Hall Project have been extended until Thursday 23 December. Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 5pm, free admission, all welcome.
