Textile and performance artist Enam Gbewonyo will be in residence at God’s House Tower this April to kick off her Meeting Point commission (find out more about the commission here). As part of her residency programme she is leading a series of three free entry knitting workshops open to Southampton locals of all ages with basic knitting knowledge (can knit garter/ stocking stitch).

As with all Enam’s workshops the sessions will centre mindfulness with movement and meditation exercises to build on conversation and community throughout. Each participant will be knitting with steel wire to create pieces that will be used for parts of one of the soft sculpture installations being made for the commission. Your work will be part of this landmark artwork which will be on display at God’s House Tower throughout the summer with a special launch event taking place in July.

You’ll get to learn more about Enam’s art and her God’s House Tower project at the workshops so if this sounds like your cup of tea (and yes refreshments will be provided!), register and book your place by following the link.

Wednesday 13th April, 2pm – 5pm
