Discover more about Exeter’s archaeology and the scientific techniques used to analyse RAMM’s collections. Exeter is one of the most archaeologically-studied English cities but a large number of new scientific techniques have been developed since the main excavations in the 1970s and 1980s. The 'Exeter: a Place in Time' project is exploring the development of the city from a Roman fortress and town, through to its emergence as a major medieval trading centre. The project is a collaboration between RAMM, the Universities of Exeter and Reading, Cotswold Archaeology and Exeter City Council. It is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Historic England.

This event will take place in the old Gap shop on Exeter High Street. It is part of RAMM about Town, a project that uses museum objects and fun activities such as building with LEGO® bricks and Minecraft to help shape conversations about the future of the high street.
