In this workshop you will be introduced to the tools to create oracle-bots that can operate as divination machines and provide spiritual advice. The workshop will consist of coding sessions and guided meditations to explore the collective imagination around analogue and digital connectivity through the body, using energy grids as main motive.

You will learn:

How to easily create a bot in the Twitter or Mastodon platform (no coding experience required)
How you can use your own body as an oracle and why it is advantageous to know about the supernatural realm!
The key tool we will be using to build the bots is CheapBotsDoneQuick (if you’re using Twitter) or CheapBotsTootSweet (if you’re on Mastodon).

No prior experience necessary

Artist Bio

DANAE is a Chilean working-class feminist writer, multimedia artist and technologist based in Rotterdam. She is a lecturer of Hacking and Autonomous Practices at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam and the founder of The Digital Witchcraft Institute, an artistic-research organization that develops advanced and non-conforming digital technologies for posthuman futures. In the past, Danae has been a fellow of the Mozilla Foundation and has led several interdisciplinary projects in activist organizations dedicated to technology and human rights in the US, Brazil and Chile. She has presented her work in places such as Kyoto, Havana, San Francisco, Tunisia, London, Honolulu. She has also published in magazines, academic journals and outlets of creative non-fiction. She is currently writing a thesis on masochism and artificial intelligence.

Annika creates multi-sensory compositions in the extended field of painting, combining installation, sculpture, sound and performance to create glitches in perception. Prompted by her experience as an investment banker, her work is interested in the evolution of consciousness, the shifting perception of (self) image in relation to mental patterns and the underlying forces that shape their systemic counterparts in nature, visual arts, technology and science. She seeks to add experiential perspectives of the contemporary relationship between human, nature and technology, addressing concepts of non-duality and otherness. She is a co-founder of the multi-disciplinary artist collective Elephants & Volcanoes.
