Q&A with Felicity Aston MBE, British polar explorer

In this online talk with Q&A, Felicity will be sharing her experiences on her skiing expedition.

In 2012 British polar explorer Felicity Aston MBE became the first woman to ski across Antarctica alone. The 1744 km/1084 mile, 59-day journey earned her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records, and in 2015 she was awarded the Polar Medal for services to the Arctic and Antarctic.

In this online talk with Q&A, Felicity will be sharing her experiences on this landmark expedition as well as other 'firsts' from more than two decades of exploration in the cold, including the first British women's crossing of Greenland and record-making international women's expeditions to both the North Pole and South Pole.

Felicity Aston features in our current exhibition 100 First Women Portraits, which showcases one hundred powerful images by renowned photographer Anita Corbin, celebrating the achievements of British women over the past century.

This talk will take place on Zoom. Details to join the event will be emailed to you in advance of the date.
