Sarah Woods
A new series of work by Sarah Woods, who works from her studio in Newlyn.
“This collection features studies from the coast surrounding the studio, focusing on simple forms and the balance of being beside the water. To me, this space is grounding and immediate. The process of each print is slowly worked by hand with simple markmaking and movements, and the time it takes brings focus and calm. Each study reflects this time spent along the coast.
The etchings are very much inspired by the beginning and end times of day, first and last light by the sea and this reminder that the tide will always rise and fall. The rhythm of the ocean brings a chance to reset. This collection of coastline etchings are printed to a small edition in my Newlyn studio.”
