Shallal arts charity has launched a new website, aiming to provide a gateway for more people to access the arts www.shallal.org

Following a year of research, user-consultation and designing, the new website has a contemporary look, aiming to appeal to artists as well as being clear and easy to use, in line with international web accessibility guidelines.

The website reflects Shallal’s people-led ethos, signposting how to join their participatory dance, visual art and written word workshops and groups across Cornwall and online and how to get involved in combined arts projects and residencies. A news page gives a feel for what’s happening week-to-week.

The website celebrates Shallal’s thirty years of pioneering inclusive arts in Cornwall via project image archives, which will continually be added to.

“The past year has highlighted the need to stay in contact and maintain and expand arts opportunities, for creative expression, community and fun through fluctuating and challenging times,” Says Shallal creative director Jo Willis.“Our new website enables people to get in touch and find all that we do in one place. We hope to reach even more people, especially those who feel isolated.”

The website project was made possible with funding from the National Lottery Community Fund Reaching Communities.
