The Late Tower Takeover

Join us for the Late Tow­er Takeover at God’s House Tow­er this Sep­tem­ber as we cel­e­brate Southampton’s young and emerg­ing creatives.

For one night only, God's House Tower will be taken over in an exciting, free late night event that celebrates young artists and performers in Southampton.

From live music and acoustic performances in the Main Gallery, to comedy routines by local performers in the Cafe and Bar, and a variety of artworks from photography to fine art in the Barker Mill Project Space, the tower will be taken over by in a jam-packed line-up of creativity.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the captivating surroundings of God’s House Tower and the historic Old Town whilst enjoying the flourishing creative scene in the city. There will also be food available on the night, with popular street food vendor MacMan serving up next level mac'n'cheese, fresh slaws and delicious dips in addition to the GHT Cafe & Bar offering a variety of refreshing, locally sourced drinks from Unity Brewing Co Beer to Coffee by Peaberry Coffee Roasters.

The Late Tower Takeover line-up will feature:

Music: Tom Baird, Sam Goodenough and Fragile Lucy.

Performers: Georgia Polly Taylor, Biscuit Barrel Comedy, Capriella, RKP with Dawn the Drag Queen as host.

Artists: Chieh-Len Chen, Phoebe Hyder, Tom Pettis, Jennifer Okafor, Isabelle Tommony, Piers Inkpen, Jonathan Hodgson and Tamsin Gaul.

The Late Tower Takeover will take place on Saturday 18th September 2021 from 19:30 - 23:00.

This event is part of Heritage Open Days New Wave project, which supports Heritage Open Days (HODs) organisers and coordinators to develop new, innovative HODs events and encourage 18 – 34 to engage with arts and heritage.
